Hi Everybody. I'm Nick, based in Tankersley right on the Sheffield/Barnsley border and specialising in adding value to properties especially by converting to HMO.
I am a mechanical engineer by profession and my perfectionist attitude holds me in good stead except when it leads to procrastination!!
I had owned BTL properties since 1982 but I allowed emotion to overcome logic in the early noughties when another version of me sold my portfolio.
I have invested heavily since Covid in my property education and in setting up a fully compliant deal sourcing business - I am evangelical about cleaning up that particular sector of the investment world!!
Hi all. Stockport-based, Environmental Noise Consultant by day, newbie investor/property investor by night with a plan to escape the rat-race in 5 years and travel LOTS with my wife. Strategy for wealth includes SSAS, commercial property, HMO - ideally R2R. Walker, occasional rock-climber, member of Kinder Mountain Rescue Team, often mistaken for David May (ex-MUFC)! Currently reading The Richest Man in Babylon - great book.
Trish here. Based in Lancs and a specialist in distressed assets, debt and repossessions. Proud dog rescuer and fur-baby foster mum, kayaker, occasional triathlete and weekend crafter. Love to connect with folks with ideas and energy. Oh and can often be found lifting heavy weights at the gym.
Alastair has been involved in finance and venture capital for over 20 years. While still at university he founded two companies, one focused on entertainment and concierge services along with an online property portal. Both of which were sold, the former to his university student’s union and the latter to an insurance company. He then went on to work in investment banking which took him around the world from London to Paris, Hong Kong to Singapore and New York.
He left investment banking at 30 to become COO of a £31bn investment manager in Hong Kong. He focused on regulatory compliance, raising assets for the various funds from international investors and also created two equity UCITS funds for the firm before deciding a few years later to setup his own firm, specializing in consulting for both hedge funds and private equity and undertaking venture capital activities of its own. Within this role, he undertook a string of advisory appointments over the next 7 years, consulting C-Suites and Boards within private equity, real estate, renewable energy, investment management, cryptocurrency and a number of FinTech and PropTech startups.
He sold his interest in the firm in 2021 to return to the UK for family reasons. Since then he has setup Finanze Group, a diversified financial services company with interests in Property & Business Finance, Protection & Insurance, Estate Planning, Education, Publishing & Events, Technology and Origination & Lending. The Group continues to grow rapidly and further venture capital investments are scheduled to be made in the coming years.
He was ranked in the Top 30 UK brokers in 2022 and followed that up with being ranked in the Top 40 most influential property professionals nationally in 2023. He is highly sought after as a speaker and still handles some transactions himself for clients that have been with him since the beginning, or where the transaction is particularly complex. He also works as a Board Adviser to a pension’s administrator, a business focused on helping those with distressed finances, a housing charity and a real estate investment fund when he isn’t busy with his family or travelling to events.
