As you now know, Vidzone has been released, wonderful! Yet in typical Sony style (at least we’re used to it!) it doesn’t work. There’s “too much demand” so the servers are falling over.

Ah well, at least we can imagine what it’s going to be like, I imagine it’s pretty darn good so I’ll wait patiently. I was going to contact Sony for comment but they’re so predictable I’ve written their reply myself.

Unfortunately due to unprecedented demand for the new Vidzone service a small minority of users are having trouble logging into the servers. We are looking into the issue and full service is expected to resume shortly.

I’m going to spend the next hour trying to login. Will update here with my results!

Update: Now it’s working it has to be said, like I imagined, it really is an excellent service. Video streams almost instantly and there’s plenty to pick from. The UI could do with some tweaks and widescreen format should already be there but it’s a great start.
